The Swedish Wind Centre is organizing a webinar about wind energy, sea-ice, forecasts and climate change. Speakers are:
Erik Kjellström, Professor in climatology, SMHI
Maria Tikanmäki, Research Team Leader, Arctic Renewable Energy, VTT. She will give an overview about:
- estimation of design sea-ice conditions for the site
- estimation of sea-ice loads on offshore wind turbine foundations
- ongoing research projects
Meto Shapkalijevski, researcher at SMHI. He will summarise on:
- how SMHI treats the sea-ice interaction processes
- state some challenges
- present future perspectives and plans
